Dublin county have 'Boys in blue' and 'Girls in blue'. Here in O'Toole's, we have the 'Girls in green' and what a weekend our beautiful, talented girls had. Each of our girls team were victorious and one particular team played twice in three days, winning both games spectacularly. They even had the grace and poise to wear an extra layer of clothing in hot weather conditions because the opposition kit was very similar to ours. Each and every player is a role model for the future players of O'Toole's. Just as those that played throughout the ages have been for our current players.
One such role model is a young girl I can't heap enough praise on. Rosie Connolly is an U14 goalie. She's not the tallest or biggest girl but by God she's to be feared by any opposing team when she steps between the posts for her team. Rosie was, without a doubt the star of Féile. She was an extra diamond in the panel of O'Toole's gems, who all played beautiful football and did themselves proud. Rosie, played two games over the weekend. For her own team and for the U16 girls. The opposition U16 mentor and his assistants were in awe of her flair and determination to stop any ball crossing her line.
So congratulations girls. Keep up the great play and fabulous results
