Tomorrow the 3rd of May, 106 Years ago:
In the Stonebreakers yard at
Kilmainham Gaol Dublin,
Irish patriots Patrick Pearse,
Tom Clarke and Thomas MacDonagh were executed.
Their name and legacy live on in the names of GAA clubs
right across the world with a special link to our club.
Proclamation signatories Tom Clarke and
Seán MacDiarmada were both club members, Clarke
was president of our clubs pipers band and McDermott
was secretary.
The 14 executed 1916 leaders are buried in Arbour
Hill cemetery, it is a wonderful place to go and visit if
you've never been.
