Our club has a proud and illustrious
history and we approach our 125th
birthday in the next few years.
We won our first trophy, a junior hurling
league in 1905.
The captain of that team, Tim O'Neill,
fought in Stephens Green during the
Easter Rising, when on Easter Monday
he drove a lorry across the city
containing arms and ammunition to the
garrison.
73 members of our club took part in the
Easter Rising of 1916.
This is something we will always
acknowledge and celebrate and we
intend to do that across our social
media platforms over the coming days.
We hope you'll take the time to read and
maybe learn a thing or two on the the
history our our wonderful club at this
particularly important time of year for
our club.
We truly are a club like no other.
