It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of club legend Liam Donoghue. It is hard to find the words that will do justice to such a great Partner, Dad, Son, Brother, Friend, and Character.
Our club moved from the North Inner City to Blunden Drive and were fortunate to have a golden generation of young kids pick up their hurls from the Foxhill estate and don the green and white. This group was spearheaded by Liam. He went on to be an integral part of 4 championship wins in 1995,1996,1997 and 2002 and also represented Dublin for numerous years. A clubman through and through, he continued to play for our Junior team up until his 50th Birthday and this year was part of the management team for our adult hurlers. However, the sporting field and his exploits on it were only 1% of the man. He was a character in every sense of the word. Whether it be a trip away, a few pints after a game or a helping hand in a time of need, Liam would be close by with his quiet nod of the head that spoke a thousand words.
Liam will be sorely missed by his partner Elaine, children Lia and Padraic, Mother Marie, Brother Paul, and Sisters Edel and Orla. Please remember the club will always be here for you like Liam was for us.
Ní imithe uainn, imithe rómhainn.
RIP
