Club is Family! And last weekend, that sentiment was more evident than ever. What a Sunday it was in the Club!

With excited anticipation preparations began, to welcome 6 visiting clubs and the wider community for the U15 Boys Féile Football Finals & Community day featuring both Cup and Shield competitions. With stalls set up, bunting and balloons hung, the opening ceremony kicked things off.   Our U8 girls, straight from their first camogie match carrying flags took center stage.  They were followed by piper Michael Maher, who led the teams in a ceremonial march before players and supporters joined together for Amhrán na bhFiann.

While the lads warmed up festivities got underway.  Stalls opened, fun activities commenced for young and old while music added to the celebratory atmosphere. Green and white dominated the scene as supporters wore headbands and their club colours.

As the matches got underway, the atmosphere was electric. The sidelines filled with Larriers of all ages and members of the local community there to support the lads. With a throw in roar of "Up the Larriers!" the match got underway.

The games were intense, with each half lasting just 20 minutes. Despite an outstanding display of skill and determination, our lads were unfortunately knocked out in the semi-finals by Lucan Sarsfields. Lucan then faced Clontarf in the final, where Clontarf emerged as Cup Winners after overcoming O’Dwyers in their semi-final.

In the Division 9 Shield Competition, Na Gael Óga were defeated by Skerries Harps in the semi-finals. Skerries then went on to face St. Pats Donabate, who secured victory in the final.

But the Larriers are never down for long! The defeat has already been brushed off, and the U15 O’Toole’s boys are back in action, preparing for the Hurling Féile Finals on Sunday, April 13th.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who made the day so special – from the dedicated coaches and mentors to the volunteers. The support from our club members and local community was outstanding, creating an unforgettable occasion for all involved.

This Féile final was not just about the game itself but also about celebrating the passion and pride we have for our club. Congratulations to all the teams who competed, and well done to the winners.

Here’s to many more great days ahead for O'Tooles GAA!
